Librarian Philosophy

BF Headshot.jpg

I believe that the library is the heart of a community, a place to extend knowledge and find intellectual freedom in a safe and accessible environment.

I believe in upholding the values set forth by The American Library Association and protecting the intellectual freedoms of all patrons while providing access to materials and encouraging a lifelong love of reading and learning.

I believe in upholding Ranganathan's Five Laws of Librarians and to continue evolving and adapting to the needs of my community.

It is my goal that someday as a librarian I will have the opportunity to impact change and to continue to advocate for the librarianship and reading values I uphold.
